Kanivu Cancer Care Charitable Society is a voluntary organization that works to provide necessary assistance to the needy patients of the Thiruvananthapuram Regional Cancer Center, such as medicine, accommodation, travel, food, etc.

Although free treatment worth crores of rupees is given to the patients of the cancer center every year, many poor patients are facing difficulties for accommodation, food, and travel expenses. Due to this, there are situations where the treatment itself has to be stopped in between.

Cancer treatment is effective only if nutritious food is given along with powerful drugs. Fifty percent of patients admitted to the wards of RCC are extremely poor. Free food is also available for them along with treatment. However, under the auspices of Kaniv, free food is given daily to their attendants and patients who come to the OP. This has been made possible due to the help of the generous public.
